Kao vlasnik malog biznisa skoro 2 godine, došao sam do 10 zaključaka (većinu njih bih često pokušavao opovrgnuti, ali sam ih skromno podsjećao tokom ovog putovanja).
1. Ne shvatajte ništa lično. Ako se fokusirate na to da udovoljite svima, identitet vašeg poslovanja će propasti.
2. Postavljanje granica vas ne čini lošom osobom. Ono provodi politike koje održavaju vašu viziju i ako se shvati lično, ne možete ništa učiniti.
3. Niko ne želi biti povezan s vama u fazama izgradnje. Čim počnete da se stabilizujete, isti ljudi počinju da pokazuju iznenadni interes. Obratite pažnju na te ljude. Često uzimaju i nerado daju.
4. Odmor nije prijedlog, već zahtjev ako ne želite da doživite sagorijevanje i izgubite strast.
5. Vođenje biznisa će vam pokazati ko su vam prijatelji.
6. Klijenti često na kraju pokažu da su podržavajući i razumniji od ljudi u vašem krugu.
7. Nećete biti voljeni. Biti vlasnik preduzeća zahtijeva konfrontaciju i zahtjevnu ličnost (s kojom se, priznajem, borim) ponekad kako bi se održala kontrola i stabilnost. Ako vas svi vole, ili vas lažu ili ste nesvjesni toga. Dobrodošli u život.
8. Usluge ne postoje 98% vremena. Ne prihvatajte ništa besplatno. Naknada je priznanje. Ljudi uvijek žele dio kolača, bez obzira da li se vi mučite ili ne.
9. Postupajte s poštovanjem prema svom timu. Ako se vi brinete o njima, oni će se brinuti o vašim kupcima.
10. Mikromenadžment prigušuje svjetlo onih koji imaju kreativnu sposobnost da naprave promjenu. Pružanje prilika uz zadržavanje vaše vizije je moguće. Raznolikost je ključna.
As a small business owner of almost 2 years now, I’ve come to 10 conclusions (majority of them I would often try to disprove, but have been humbly reminded of them over the course of this journey).
1. Don’t take anything personally. If you focus on pleasing everyone, the identity of your business will fall through the cracks.
2. Setting boundaries doesn’t make you a bad person. It enforces policies that sustain your vision and if it’s taken personally, there’s nothing you can do.
3. No one wants to be affiliated with you in the building stages. As soon as you start stabilizing, the same folks begin to acquire sudden interest. Pay close attention to those people. They often take and are reluctant to give.
4. Rest is not a suggestion but a requirement if you don’t want to experience burnout and lose passion.
5. Running a business will show you who your friends are.
6. Clients often end up being more supportive and understanding than people in your circle.
7. You will be disliked. Being a business owner requires confrontation and a demanding personality (which I admittedly struggle with) at times for the sake of keeping the ship sailing and under control. If everyone likes you, either they’re lying to you or you’re oblivious. Welcome to life.
8. Favors don’t exist 98% of the time. Don’t accept anything for free. Compensation is appreciation. People always want a piece of the pie, whether you’re struggling or not.
9. Treat your team with respect. If you take care of them, they will take care of your customers.
10. Micromanaging dims the light of those who have the creative ability to make a change. Giving opportunities while keeping your vision is possible. Diversity is key.
